About Us
Walt Shiel: I manage the day-to-day operations of Jacobsville Books. This is my fifth career (so far), having previously been an Air Force pilot, telecommunications engineer, aerospace engineer (on programs such as the B-2 bomber and the F-22 and F-16 fighters). I have been a published author since 1990 with dozens of articles published in magazines in the US, UK, and Australia and both fiction and nonfiction books.
Lisa A. Shiel: I'm a librarian as well as an author of books (fiction and nonfiction) and magazine articles. As a writer, I specialize in everything strange, from Bigfoot and UFOs to alternative history. I previously served as both chief investigator for Michigan's chapter of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and president of the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association (UPPAA).
Kerrie Shiel: I am a professional artist with several regional art awards. The Experimental Aircraft Association's selected my aviation painting "Hit My Smoke" for a one-year exhibit in their AirVenture Museum. Michigan Tech University's Van Pelt Library purchased one of my Keweenaw Peninsula lighthouse paintings for their permanent collection. I also create the original artwork for book covers (for our own books as well as clients of our subsidiary Five Ranbows Services) as well as illustrations for a wide range of books.
